As an EDA (Electronic Design Automation) Performance Architect, you will analyze the performance of EDA workloads on our computing infrastructure, the output of benchmark tests on EDA tools and infrastructure components, and make recommendations for improving the performance of EDA workloads. You will publish findings and benchmarking results for consumption by design teams across the company. You must have a demonstrated ability to configure and run EDA tools from major vendors, strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of server, storage, and networking technologies. You will work primarily with memory and storage ASIC design teams, but will collaborate with memory CAD and design engineers.
Responsibilities and Tasks:
Analyze performance data generated by production EDA workloads and benchmark tests.
Analyze the interaction of EDA tools and the platforms on which they are operating.
Collaborate with CAD and design teams in multiple geographic locations to understand their workload and flow.
Collaborate with IT enterprise architects on server, storage, and networking technology directions.
Collaborate with EDA vendor and computing infrastructure vendor technical representatives.
Develop and run standard benchmark tests that accurately measure the performance of EDA tools.
Publish benchmark results and recommendations.
Identify performance bottlenecks and recommend solutions to eliminate them.
Participate in EDA performance related development projects.
Be aware of industry best practices and emerging technologies.
Participate in cost and decision analysis.
Assist operational teams through training and as an escalation resource.
Strong statistical analysis skills and/or high proficiency with the Linux operating system.
Experience with Electronic Design Automation tools in a semiconductor development environment.
Demonstrated proficiency with predictive analytics.
Strong knowledge of relational databases and SQL commands
